Marc Jacobs Wants You To Pay Him $65 To Give You The Finger

This. This is the absurdity. It’s a graphite sculpture of a hand (presumably Marc Jacobs’) giving you the finger. It’s called “Digitus Infamis Adàmas,” which Google translate tells me is Latin for “infamous diamond finger.” Why “diamond”? There’s a tiny diamond at the base of the finger, which is revealed once you’ve drawn with it enough to wear the whole appendage away. Why “infamous”? I think Marc’s reputation precedes him. Why “[middle] finger”? Because Marc Jacobs doesn’t care that you’re mad at him for being friends with Uncle Terry, flouting CFDA guidelines, and refusing to pay his runway models. Yeah, he’s edgy status quo like that.

It can now be purchased for $65 at BookMarc LA and BookMarc NY stores.
