Snooki And JWoww Have Never Heard Of Girls

Snooki and JWoww, the overconfident, uber-party girls that represent the exact opposite what it means to be young in America as what Girls represents (i.e., full of self-doubt and self-loathing, embarking on an arduous yet deliberate path of self-discovery vs. going out and getting shitcanned every day and night and just trying to have as much fun and make as much money as possible) have actually never even heard of Girls.

In an interview with Vulture, they had this to say of the HBO phenomenon:

One of the most talked-about new shows has been Girls. Do you watch that one?
Snooki: No.
Jenni: Never heard of it.

And it makes perfect sense. Why would they give a shit about a bunch of whiny New Yorkers? In a way, it makes me envious of the Jersey Shore stars. I imagine that it would be nice to just go about your ludicrous, meaningless business and still feel really good about yourself and be able to look in the mirror every morning and say “fuck the haters.” Just do you, Snooki and JWoww. Just do you.

I’ve never seen Girls, but I’m going to happily assume that there is no duckface involved in their photos.

I don’t know — I suspect that Jessa may engage in duckface here and there, and I think Hannah did duckface in a sext once? But I could be wrong. Anyone?

Either way your point is well-taken — no doubt there is far LESS duckface involved in Girls than in Jersey Shore. Totally fair point.

I’ve never seen “Girls”, and now I’m going to have to go look up “duckface”. Thanks for dragging me deep into the social mire!

“Just do you,Snooki and JWoww” — who else would?

I’ve never seen “Girls and think it sounds like shit, but I’d absolutely much rather be Snooki than anyone from that program. I’m slowly dragging myself out of the “interning at some arty place is more prestigious than actually being able to support yourself” mindset, and “Jersey Shore” is great for that.
