Gwyneth Paltrow‘s benevolence is limitless. After all, she invented GOOP to teach you how to buy vintage Hermes watches and $500 paella pans. Where would your paella be without Gwyneth Paltrow? Fucking nowhere.
Since Gwyneth is good at everything, design was a natural extension of her brand, if not her birthright. So, GOOP’s new project will be debuting one limited-edition collaboration per week, covering fashion, home decor, and beauty. The maiden collaboration is this thin white t-shirt from Kain which costs $90. The piece is referred to as “Kain Label For Goop,” so it sounds like the “collaboration” here is mostly contractual. We do appreciate that they didn’t try and sell it as something that Gwyneth designed herself (which would make last week’s Illustrated Guide a little more prescient).
Here it is on someone who isn’t Gwyneth Paltrow and therefore a little less glorious:
Inspired by tuxedo tailoring, we added grosgrain piping to the shoulders and sides, and shortened the length, modernizing this essential wardrobe staple.
Beneath the item description, they add, “This sophisticated embellishment to Kain’s trademark silhouette will wear well for day into night. We like to wear ours untucked.”
The t-shirts may be $90 but the styling tips are priceless.
