Karl Lagerfeld Wants You To Smell Like Paper

Look, no one here is going to deny that Karl Lagerfeld is a man with very particular taste. He wears the same thing everyday, and that thing involves a white bouffant and sometimes, an ascot.

So it should come as no surprise that the fragrance he’s launching with Wallpaper magazine smells like something unconventional: aging paper. It’s whimsical, isn’t it? There’s nothing like the smell of a good book. Aaahhhh.

Anyway, whatever. The perfume is called “Paper Passion,” and I might wear it. It’s also packaged in an aesthetically appealing manner, i.e. inside a faux-book. So there’s that.

Would you wear it?

I’m really considering buying this. I love paper, I work with paper, I’m a total bibliophile and Karl Lagerfeld is the king. But I’ve read it’s supposed to smell greasy?! Who would want greasy books?

I can totally get behind the fragrance, but yeah, greasy books? Gross.
