What Do We Think About Toms Shoes On Fellas?

Aside from the Crocs that run rampant in these parts, I’m also seeing A LOT of Toms shoes on fellas out here in Colorado. I find this to be an anomaly because I have never, in all my days, seen Toms on a man before this past week. I don’t even recall seeing them in such an abundance when I was last out here a few months ago.

I do not own Toms flats. I feel they’re a bit too hippy for my blood. I do own several pairs of the wedges because they’re not only cute, but insanely comfortable. In the city I have seen women in both the wedges and flats and it never registered that men would even wear them. Granted, I’ve see this Tom dude himself wearing them with male models on the site when I go to order my wedges, but I had never seen them on fellas in real life. I am confused. What sort of look is this? Chucks are just as comfortable and don’t have that hippy-dippy thing going on, so that seems like a more obvious and sane choice than Toms.

Thoughts? Do you know a fella who rocks the Toms and does it well?

Crunchy lil metroboys. They should try nude maryjanes.

I don’t see that look often in Denver. Are those pajama pants? Boulder.

      • Amanda Chatel

Hahaha – yes, those are pajama pants. I forced my nephews to model for the photo. But, yeah, Boulder indeed. Boulder Farmers Market yesterday… oh, wow. I just don’t get it.

All I can say is that I find toms way more supportive than converse, they actually have insoles!

In S.C. (no redneck jokes please) they are everywhere….guys and gals are about even on the toms front, and they have been for a couple years

Lots of men (I refuse to use the word “fellas” – your insistence on using this word ALL THE TIME in your posts consistently makes me want to vomit) in New York wear Toms. Who cares? They look fine with the right clothes. If that’s your look, rock it.

There’s something about Toms I’ve never understood. Doesn’t wearing a shoe without socks that’s made out of thick canvas give you horrible blisters?

I want to hate it, but I don’t.

I like it. plus each pair sold benefits someone who needs a pair of shoes some where in the world. it’s a win win.

Those devil creations looks nasty on anyone, plus are shitty 1 dollar shoes selled at a high price with the charity lie they sell u, which is u are buying two pairs of horrible shoes at 10 times their real value so no thanks!!!!

slow news days or are you just a misogynistic yuppie fresh from undergrad? Male here, had a pair of Toms two years ago because I wanted ninja shoes. Wore them out. Meantime I see all these twee little princesses in their early 20s latch on to this ‘cute’ new trend. WAKE UP BEEZY, YOU ARRIVED LATE TO THE PARTY, OH WAIT, IT’S ALREADY OVER! OH, AND YOU’RE NOT HELPING THE CAUSE.

      • Amanda Chatel

Someone clearly forgot to take their meds today.

Twee princess in her 20s here. Look up ‘misogynistic’ in the dictionary.

I hate them for adults, mainly because they are shapeless and remind me of these black shoes I wore in the late 80s. I loved them at the time but i was about six years old.

      • Amanda Chatel

Apparently, you have zero desire to be a ninja like “Pffft.” Shame on you!

      • holleeta

Haha I had to google ninja shoes because in my mind suitable ninja shoes would be like mountain climbing shoes. Instead, google gave me these weird looking cameltoe-like shoes. Very unattractive.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with these for guys..they’re not the most comfy thing in the world, so maybe not for a whole day whilst your running your errands – i think they’re kind of like slippers you can also take outside if your just going down the road..they remind me of these: http://israelity.com/2008/06/29/nostalgia-sunday-58/
