15 Years Ago Yesterday The World Lost Princess Di, Let’s Honor Her Memory With Her Best Quotes

Although her beginnings started innocently enough, Diana, Princess of Wales would not only have a dramatic life, but a tragic death, and an untimely one at that.

It was 15 years ago yesterday that the world lost the 36-year-old Diana when she and Dodi Fayed were killed in a Paris tunnel as they raced to try to get away from paparazzi. Even for those of us who had never met her, it was hard not to be moved by such a loss. She wasn’t just a princess, she was the “People’s Princess” and despite her personal demons, she worked tirelessly to make this world a better place.

I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news about her death, and although I’m not prone to crying over people I’ve never met, I did cry for her. Her life had been a roller-coaster, she was constantly surrounded by prying eyes and for years she was stuck in a loveless marriage. In Fayed she had finally found not only love, but herself; she was happy.

Many members of royal families will come and go, and the world will have never heard of them, but Princess Di is a different story. Her consistent goodwill to others, her down-to-earth soul and the imprint she left on the world will never cease. They say some people never live and some never die — Princess Diana is the latter.

Thanks for posting this. A beautiful ode to a wonderful person. The world is better because of her. I’m glad someone remembered her this weekend.
