Here’s A Terrible Anti-Obama Ad Against Gay Marriage

Well, it’s campaign time, and obviously that means that it’s time to pick a group of people that we would like to keep basic civil rights away from and make them the centerpiece of fight ads. Amirite?

This time around, it’s the gays! Because there’s a group that hasn’t undergone enough discrimination over the past few years. The Campaign for American Values, a pro-Romney SuperPAC, released the following attack (I guess??) ad in which one man and one woman discuss how only they should have the right to marry each other, and so they should vote for someone who feels the same way. Prepare for boiling blood:

    How. Is. This. Real.

There are so many things wrong with that video that I can’t even form complete sentences around them.

    This is a joke, right?!

Please tell me this is a joke.

“Hello, I’m Troy McClure. You might remember me from such campaign videos as A Return to Jurassic Values, and Twirling toward Freedom.”

    I just threw up.
And it wasn’t because of the bad acting… although that was a close second.

Wow, that’s pretty weak sauce. At least all the boiling clouds and ominous music was slightly original.

That said, I love how the guy hesitates slightly before replying that that’s not the change he voted for either. For a second I thought he was going to jump right out of the closet, right there at the breakfast counter.

Also, I didn’t realize that the definition of “values” had been rewritten to mean “the values that correlate exactly with my own AND NO OTHERS AT ALL,” still less “the right to mandate against someone’s happiness because of some ill-defined discomfort.”
