According To Vogue Paris, We Should All Be Paying Attention To Nadja Bender

Danish model Nadja Bender is relatively new to the fashion scene. If you look at her credentials, it’s pretty much only been in the last year that she’s been popping up here and there. She didn’t work her first New York Fashion Week until just this past Fall/Winter 2012 collections, but when she did it was for Rodarte and Alexander Wang. Not a bad debut.

This morning Vogue Paris tweeted a photo of Bender walking the runway at the Derek Lam show. The description accompanying it was that she is the “latest girl to watch.” Of course they tweeted it in French, so it was far lovelier than that banal line right there. So let’s watch this photo for a few:

One has to wonder that when a fashion magazine puts such expectations on a model’s future if it’s almost as if they’re jinxing them. Perhaps, sealing the deal on their demise. What if she doesn’t turn into the next “It” girl? Do they take it back?

But we’ll watch, because Vogue Paris said so. In the meantime, let’s covet that Derek Lam dress from his Spring 2013 collection. Once again, designers are keeping with the drop-waist dress that is so reminiscent of the 1920′s and The Great Gatsby. Zelda Fitzgerald would approve.
