This weekend, the Ryan Reynolds Blake Lively wedding happened in a barn in South Carolina and entertainment reporters scrambled to find any detail at all worth reporting (such as “there was a DJ” and “there was a cake”). A day or two later, more meaningful details have begun to emerge. Apparently a few outlets reported Lively’s wedding dress was designed by Chanel, but that isn’t true:
The bride and her bridesmaids walked down the aisle in custom Marchesa gowns designed by Blake’s friends, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, with shoes created for the celebration by Christian Louboutin. The groom and groomsmen wore specially made Burberry suits with custom leather suspenders designed by the groom’s friend, Christopher Bailey. The couple exchanged unique wedding rings by Lorraine Schwartz.
Apparently a quota of famous names needed to be met. Per Marchesa’s press office, the dress was “a hand-draped silk tulle bodice adorned with custom crystal and rose gold embroidery.” We’re sure it was slit to the navel and featured much cleavage.
As a fun sidenote, Lively recently chatted about her hypothetical wedding plans with Marie Claire and, in a concise expression of how deeply, remarkably insufferable she is, wondered aloud, “Which couture house should I go to?”
