In an interview with People magazine, “Twilight” actress Nikki Reed suggests that in order to conserve water, you bathe with your partner:
“To be environmentally conscious,” she said, “I think there’s things we can all do to make a difference…You can shower with another person…two people, one shower, less water, it’s pretty simple.”
Fair enough, and her math certainly works out. But showering with another person, I’ve found, isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
First of all, there’s the issue of who gets to stand under the stream. Someone is always left about halfway out of the water, which, unless you’ve completely steamed up the bathroom already, means that one of you is always freezing.
Second of all, shower sex? Overrated. There’s precious little to hold onto in a shower, and surely I’m not the only person who has accidentally pulled down a shower curtain rod whilst trying to maintain my balance as intimacy is occurring. Plus usually someone has to do an uncomfortable squat if there’s going to be penetration involved.
So, I’m not the biggest fan of taking a shower together. I think it’s best left as a solo activity. But! I know other people feel differently, so:
