Taylor Swift Doesn’t Want To ‘Influence’ How You’ll Vote During This Election

We’re going to take a poll at the bottom of this post, but before we get there, let’s throw out the question first so you have time to mull it over: Does a celebrity’s stance on politics affect how you vote? Seriously. Think about it, and remember the poll is anonymous so we can’t judge you for whatever option you choose. Not that we’d judge you anyway, of course.

While some celebrities are all about speaking about their politics and who has their support some, like Taylor Swift, won’t share who has their vote. Why? Because she doesn’t want to “influence” anyone. As we all know, celebrities influence, people! This isn’t just a rumor, it’s a fact. And a fact that is really fucking scary when you realize how much of America still has a hard-on for the Kardashians.

As Swift told Time in regards to her political view:

“I follow it, and I try to keep myself as educated and informed as possible. But I don’t talk about politics because it might influence other people. And I don’t think that I know enough yet in life to be telling people who to vote for.”

Well, well. Is this gal full of herself? Or maybe she just doesn’t know “enough yet in life” and that is indeed the reason why she’s staying quiet on the subject? Does anyone, celebrity or not, actually believe they have that much of an influence on someone’s vote? It has always been my understanding that people voted based on the candidate’s platform and not how someone else, a celebrity especially, swings on the political spectrum.

So, dare the question be posed? Yes, let’s ask it:

Sorry! This poll is now closed.

Yes, how dare she admit to not feeling like it’s her right to tell people who to vote for, especially since she doesn’t feel like she doesn’t know enough. That arrogant bitch!

I couldn’t have said it better myself. What Swift said doesn’t sound like she’s trying to be arrogant at all and unfortunately she has a point. She is in a position where she’s able to broadcast herself to many people and there are quite a few people out there who are so influenced by celebrities that they’ll vote for who their favorite celebrity is voting for. The author of this post is just coming off as unnecessarily malicious and cunty.

      Cunty indeed.

I think she’s coming off as very reasonable in her statements, and this article is unnecessary.

“…I don’t talk about politics because it might influence other people. And I
don’t think that I know enough yet in life to be telling people who to
    vote for.”

Riiiight. I think this can be translated into “I want to be a blank slate & not alienate any of my fans by stating an opinion.”

      Thank you!

Celebrities don’t determine how I vote or buy or live my life necessarily, but I do think they influence a lot of people. Why else have celebrities endorsements?

celebrities don’t influence my politics, but their politics influence whether or not the rise or fall in my esteem… If that makes sense?

Unless you’re just dumb… No one likes a dumb person regardless of their political stance. As for Ms Swift. Eh. Is she against MTV’s Vote or Die campaign? Is that still going on? Did I just date myself?
