How To Successfully Pull Off Cooking Your First Thanksgiving Dinner

Cook it and they will come.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Today is the big day in which we eat ourselves silly, give thanks for the great stuff in our lives and maybe even make peace with the less than great stuff for which we’re still grateful. It’s also a holiday that’s about family and friends, and a healthy dose of drama.

When you were a wee one, it was probably everyone else who did the cooking on this day of utter yumminess. As you’ve grown up, you’ve probably become more and more involved in the cooking festivities, and maybe this is finally the year that you do Thanksgiving dinner all by yourself LIKE A GROWN-UP. It was going to happen eventually.

Pulling off such a feat isn’t exactly easy, but it is a lot of fun and quite an adventure in the kitchen. It takes skill to cook all those sides, appetizers and other goodies along with the turkey, AND have them all ready at the same time for the consuming. As someone who attempted this once in her life, I can attest to the fact that it isn’t easy and I probably won’t do it again for a long time. But it was really fun to sit back and realize I had done something so extravagant for the first time ever. Also, my guests seemed to be pretty impressed with my homemade stuffing recipe that I totally made up.

If I can do it, so can you. Actually, so can anybody.
