Kristen Stewart Comes Really Really Close To Smiling For Marie Claire

Kristen Stewart Marie Claire cover

Kristen Stewart is still pounding the pavement for the last installment of Twilight (in addition to promoting her upcoming Kerouac-based indie, On the Road)–and she’s got some Balenciaga duties to uphold. Along the promotional trail, she landed the cover of Australian Marie Claire, and not only gave them a few weirdly puffy, positive quotes (we’ll get to that) she even almost smiled (above).

Then again, it kind of reminds us of this:

No matter, she’s not making Kristen Stewart face (see all ‘Related Posts’ below).

As for that nice stuff she said, Stewart claimed she actually likes the fashion industry:

“I’m a huge fan of the fashion world now that I’ve been allowed to be a part of it, even if oftentimes I don’t even know what I’m wearing,” she said indicating her current choice of denim and a faded T-shirt. “But whenever I put on anything by Balenciaga I’m like, ‘Oh, that looks like Balenciaga!’ You can see it, you can pick it out of a rack.”

We’ll see if that’s the case after new creative director Alexander Wang takes the helm.

Speaking of which, we wonder how long Stewart’s campaign duties for the venerable house will last, now that it’s head designer is firmly team Liberty Ross. Only time will tell.

I think it’s annoying that people keep saying that her face is always the same, it’s her face, how else is it supposed to look? I get that she’s an actress and therefore supposed to emote but I don’t think she’s done anything that really required much of that yet. As for her personal life, if I were her I would walk around as sullen and taciturn looking as I damn well please. I am absolutely sick of people wanting women to smile all the time for no good reason.

      Also, I love Wednesday Adams.

there’s a quote from robert pattinson about Kirsten smiling that talks about how no matter how much she smiles or laughs, this is how the media has decided to depict her and what will be shown is the one shot where she’s serious. Please don’t taunt and ostracize this young, beautiful woman like this, it’s crass and degrading to tell women to smile, they are entitled to make any expression they want.
