13 Things That Prove 2013 Is Going To Be Fucking Awesome

I think we can all agree that we're looking forward to this movie for sure.

I think we can all agree that we’re looking forward to this movie for sure.

Yes, every other site seems to be doing their own collection of what we should be overly excited for in 2013, but we can play, too. Besides, no two sites are the same in their opinions on the topic. I’d dare to say this list might be the best, but I’m biased and as a journalist (of sorts), I don’t think that’s allowed.

(This list is totally the best.)

So in addition to our several readers who I know are getting married or expecting babies or are moving on to some place new and fabulous, here are 13 other things that are going to make 2013 one hell of a year.

Celebrating that the Mayans were wrong

Who's partying like it's 1999, because we're still here? We are.

Four more years of Barack Obama

Hell yeah!

The Bell Jar turns 50 years old

If celebrating one of the greatest written accounts of depression isn't noteworthy, then NOTHING IS.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting the Golden Globes

BFFs tackling an award show? Um, this actually might be the highlight of the year. Photo: NBC

H&M's recycling program

Starting in February, H&M customers will be able to turn in their old clothes to get discounts on new clothes in all 48 markets worldwide. Recycling is awesome.

Lady Gaga's ARTPOP

Gaga fans will be rejoicing when ARTPOP drops this year.

An election-free year

Need I say more?

Girls' second season

Because we didn't get enough of the awkward sex scenes in season one, we're all looking forward to season two. Photo: HBO

Yeah Yeah Yeah's new album

Although yet to be titled and not an exact release date in sight, the Yeah Yeah Yeah's are scheduled to release a new studio album at some point this year. (Thank you, Karen O.)

Another sweltering summer

Initially, you might be turned off by this thought, but maybe another disgusting summer will finally get Republicans to admit that global warming is real. Maybe?

The final season of Breaking Bad

The end of eras are never fun, but it will be nice to see exactly how Walter and Jesse get themselves out of the mess they've created.

The Great Gatsby

Although the date for this keeps getting pushed forward, hopefully 2013 is the year we finally get to see this film in all its glitz and glory.

Facing triskaidekaphobia

If you fear 13, you can look forward to getting over it, because this year is going to be the best.
