Revelations: What We Learned In 2012 (Our Readers And Us, Too)

"You can always tell an old soul by how friendly they are to trees."

“You can always tell an old soul by how friendly they are to trees.”

You guys, we’re down to the wire with this 2012 bullshit. Hell yeah! Who’s counting down the seconds to 2013? This guy! (And probably a bunch of you, too.)

Last week we told you to fuck your 2013 resolutions and take a moment to think back to what you learned in 2012. In other words: what were your revelations, my darlings? What were the things that happened this past year that made you realize something you either never had before or didn’t even know was possible?

Although your revelations are all unique in their own way, the common theme in all of them is love. Whether it’s the love of a significant other, your family or you friends, it was love that seemed to be part of all these revelations that were had. (Yes, I totally got teary-eyed while compiling these last night, but it’s just because I love you so… see? Love!)

If you didn’t get a chance to participate in the fun, but still want to, then you know where you can share you revelations now — comments section! Let it out! Join us and share your revelations below! I’m a firm believer that things are meant to be shared; if you put them in writing then you’re solidifying them. (Yes, I also just watched The Great Gatsby for the 100th time so my sense of literary romance is off the charts.)

Resolutions are so passé; and with that being said, here are our revelations of 2012…

You are all awesome, Glossies! (Yes, it’s okay to slap me for calling you a Glossy.)

This makes me very happy. Resolutions can be a set-up for failure. Revelations are always a 100% success-rate!

Agreed. Lots of loves to our ladies… and to you Ms. Pants for starting this trend. xo.

Soooooo empowering! That’s sort of a corny word but BOY do I want to get empowered right now, and seeing these successes/realizations/haircuts is doing good things for me tonight. Thanks for writing and compiling, y’all!

Colleen- I am so sorry. I’m glad you have people who are supporting you right now, but I will keep a good thought for you. Hopefully 2013 will bring new opportunities for you and the hub :)

Amanda, I ended up writing a whole blog about my revelations. Thanks for making me think! Happy 2013, everyone.
