The 2013 People’s Choice Awards, held in Los Angeles tonight at the Nokia Theatre, always involves a whole lot of interesting choices made on behalf of, well, the people. Some are agreeable, some are…not quite as agreeable. But let’s be honest: we’re all about ten times more interested in the glorious (and inglorious) looks on the red carpet than any award doled out by the general public, so let’s take a look at some of those, shall we?
Julianne Hough looked like a nebula. A beautifully polished nebula full of crystals.
“Happy Endings” actress Casey Wilson‘s cobalt dress looked simply stunning on her.
15-year-old Kathryn Newton looked adorable in this pale blue dress. Even her gold sneakers are oddly charming.
Yes, it’s a bit boring and, yes, it’s just about as Taylor Swift-y as a dress can get, but she does look fantastic and it fits excellently.
One of the nice things about the People’s Choice Awards is that there’s a huge range of fashion elements: short hemlines, long gowns, bright colors, pastels, silk, ruffles, sparkles…it makes things a whole lot interesting. “The Big Bang Theory”‘s Melissa Rauch wore a bright yellow gown that exemplifies this by fitting beautifully and being rather unique (although it could’ve used a good steaming first).
Les Miserables‘ Eddie Redmayne pulls off the charming, quirky English guy look handsomely.
Ellen Pompeo looked elegant and comfortable in this long, off-white belted dress.
Naomi Watts pulls off both off metallic gold and side boob exceptionally well.
Tim Gunn called host Kaley Cuoco‘s outfit a “confection.” This was accurate. While I’m not too keen on the center part and “Toddlers & Tiaras” hairdo, I think this fits her well and is a sweet look for her first of the evening.
I wil always appreciate a gorgeous evening jumpsuit, and Katie Cassidy‘s is no exception.
If Rachel Leigh Cook had worn this in “She’s All That,” I’m pretty sure she would’ve fallen down the stairs a lot more elegantly; for those of you who didn’t see her walk to the stage, the gown flowed behind her so well. And maybe she would’ve turned into a mermaid because this dress is magic, which would’ve made the movie so much better.
