In case you all haven’t heard yet, there’s a super tough celebrity on the loose who’s kicking ass and taking names, by which I mean that apparently, everyone’s favorite obnoxious hormonal teenager popstar Justin Bieber fights his staff physically over disagreements because they can’t hit back without risking termination and/or actually harming the 110-pound kid. COOL.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Biebs is being sued by past bodyguard Moshe Benabou, an ex-Israeli Army soldier who worked for Bieber from March 2011 until October of last year. Benabou claims in the suit that his former employer violently released his anger after a disagreement. Said the complaint:
“The tirade was apparently triggered by what Justin Bieber perceived as an attempt by Moshe Benabou to keep one member of Mr. Bieber’s entourage physically away from Justin Bieber. As part of this tirade, Justin Bieber repeatedly punched Moshe Benabou in the chest and upper body area. Mr. Benabou did not retaliate or attempt to protect himself out of his concerns for Justin Bieber’s physical well-being.”
(Maybe) attempting to keep Bieber away from a member of his entourage? How dare he! Just after this, Justin informed him of his termination; Benabou reportedly responded by merely walking away. As a result of the experience, however, Benabou is seeking damages, as well as $410,000 in unpaid overtime. Bieber’s camp insists that the man is simply trying to extract money from the singer, as all publicists tend to say when people accuse their clients of bad things.
While I dislike lying, I do hope that this isn’t true. I don’t really care all that much if Bieber smokes pot or whatever, but hitting people who work for you (or anyone, for that matter)? That’s the sign of a celebrity that absolutely needs some lessons in humility, sensitivity and anger management.
