Let's be honest, your bully has probably had their fair share of bullying at this put in the game. You'll be surprised how much they want to apologize for what they once did.
I don't know about your experience, but Facebook has showed me that those who bullied me settled. I'm not judging, but in my experience, my bullies already had three kids under their belt (literally) by the time they were in their mid-20's.
I did not. And these were the people who were going to be "models" and "rockstars."

Having a glimpse into someone else's life, a life you probably you never wanted, will lead to excessive smiling in the mirror every morning. Smiles are good for the soul!

Where do bullies go, on average? Um, nowhere. Look at their life and your life. Who pursued what they wanted and who didn't? Who collapsed under mediocrity? Not you. Why? Because "freaks" rarely do.
This may seem on par with making amends, but it's not. Forgiveness is an entirely differently world.
As an adult, you realize that bullies were bullies for a deeper reason than the words and actions they cast upon you. It was actually less about you and more about them. You'll see this in the longrun.
Whether it was a family issue or something that stemmed from an internal insecurity on their part, your adult brain will understand the reason for it all: it was not about you.
Dude. Thumbs up! (Yes, gratuitous photo of my lipstick.) Life IS NOT A COMPETITION, but if it was... who won? Oh, I don't know... YOU? Like I said, nerds, dorks, freaks and outcasts always step up to the plate. I think that might be part goal and part bullying.
Take it from a someone who was bullied: We succeed in the long run. I more than promise this... MORE THAN.
