The world is in mourning. Or at least it is for those of us who watched 30 Rock for the past several years, and especially for the women who saw so much of themselves in Tina Fey‘s beloved character, Liz Lemon. In all her quirkiness, bad dance moves and her ability to admit that she likes to smell things that smell bad (like old water in flower vases), it was hard for most women to not find something in her to which we could relate.
But now that the show is over, Ben & Jerry’s has created something to honor the character we adored, and to quell our sadness with a pint of love. Yes, the Liz Lemon Greek Frozen Yogurt will be coming to store freezers this spring. But hold up, as Lemon would say: “what the what?” A frozen yogurt? Wouldn’t Lemon reach for the pint with the most calories and fat grams, then reach for possibly another one when she’s done? Part of her charm was her obsession with food and lots of it, so a frozen yogurt seems, well, un-Lemony.
The proceeds from the lemon, blueberry-lavendar swirl pint of goodness, will got to Fey’s Jumpstart charity that educationally serves kids in low-income neighborhoods. I wonder if this means the kiddos with get loads of free frozen yogurt, too? If so, Mayor Bloomberg would be proud since he’s on a mission to strip children of their bad eating habits.
But back to the real question: would Liz Lemon even eat frozen yogurt? Possibly? Will the Liz Lemon Greek Frozen Yogurt taste fantastic? Hell yeah; it just sucks that we have to wait a couple more months, because you know what? I want to go to there. Now.
