I’m not a fan of movie-adaption book covers, but that’s what the Tuck Everlasting one is. It really doesn’t fit in with the rest of the books, and makes it a pretty random book to choose out of the many, many movie-adaptation book covers out there.

      • Boosker

Yeah, and it’s not Rory’s fault that she looks like a friggin’ angel walking amongst mortals. Avery Jessup, on the other hand, can suck it.

      • jen

        Haha Avery sucks.

The sexy 11 year old book cover made me laugh out loud

      • Eileen

I generally don’t like movie covers, but I will admit to thinking my reading of Pride and Prejudice benefited from the picture of Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle on the cover :)

(I kind of loved Avery Jessup during her first few episodes, actually…until Nancy Donovan came back and they started that stupid triangle. Although Yankees vs. Former Mayors beer pong sounds awesome)

    • Maria

      There are many blonde Italians.

      • Eileen

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. R&J takes place in Verona, which is fairly north in Italy. Lots of northern Italians are blonde or redheaded.

    • DebMoore

That is the version of “Are you there God? It’s me, Margaret” that I read as a young girl! Too funny, just took me down memory lane!

    • Tania

My coworker had just mentioned the ridiculous Anne of Green Gables thing about five minutes before I saw this. Too ridiculous. Her red-headedness was mentioned so often. But there was no scene where she bleaches her hair, at least, not that I can remember. Maybe they added that one in.

My coworker theorized that the idea behind it was to appeal to the new, young generation, but my rebuttal to that was “so there are no young, attractive redheads to be found?”

As friend and family to many a ginger, that is not reality!

      • Blue

She tried to dye her red hair black. She was never blonde. Whoever chose that image is a complete idiot.

      • Tania

Ah, that’s right. I knew she did *something* to it, but it’s been many a year since I read it. But I knew peroxide wasn’t involved!

    • Cassie

I was so mad about the Tuck Everlasting one! Wasn’t Winnie like… 10 or something?? I remember reading it in 6th or 7th grade and thinking she was younger than me and how could she possibly know that she wanted to be with Tuck forever?!

    • Cassie

Also, The Giver, really? When did whats-his-face become emo-esque? I’m pretty sure that his hair was cut short in their utopia.
