After the red carpet dystopian wasteland that was yesterday’s Grammys scramble–and the subsequent mad dash to give the BAFTAs their due–the Elle Style Awards went and took place! That was very selfish of them. Anyway, there were some famous people, some so-called “style icons,” some supermodels and some nobodies in weird clothes. Let’s have a look…
Kate Hudson looks stiff and uncomfortable in her weird red dress.
Suki Waterhouse is one of those nebulous It Girls. She dresses like a fashion blogger.
Designer Roksanda Ilincic wore a very big skirt and a very big collar.
Elizabeth Olsen wore a very expensive version of the outfit we wore everyday in high school. So: two big thumbs up.
Rosamund Pike‘s pants fit nicely! She looks nice.
Model Kendra Spears wore an ugly dress and her hair was weird. We don’t understand how this happened.
WE star Andrea Riseborough wore feathers and statement shoes because this is the red carpet where stylists get to follow their most self-indulgent whims.
For example. Don’t you just imagine some TV stylist stepping back from Alicia Vikander‘s look and saying, “Now it just needs a pop! of! color!” (dramatic pause) “I’ve got it. Yellow shoes.”
Daisy Lowe‘s full skirt makes the outfit feel like way more of a mess. The intentionally mussy fishtail isn’t helping.
Peaches Geldof is pregnant and wearing it very well. Like her hair, her pink dress.
Arizona Muse wore statement shoes and a statement necklace with her statement cocktail dress.
Kristen McMenamy wore leather pants and booties and an Alexander McQueen knuckle duster clutch and her perfect gray hair and holy shit she’s cool.
Chloe Moretz wore that now-ubiquitous Marc Jacobs collection and a Chanel clutch. She looked cute, like always.
TV personality Amanda de Cadenet also got talked into some Fashion Clashing.
We’re not sure who Laura Haddock is but her petal pink jumpsuit fits her nicely!
It’s distracting how the neckline of Samantha Barks is like a boob frame.
We’ve entered the territory where we have to Google everyone in attendance. Zawe Ashton is an English actress and playwright in a very bad dress.
Lisa Snowdon is a former model, best known stateside for being George Clooney‘s piece. As our commenters have been noting a lot lately, we’re all sick of nude/beige pumps with everything in the absence of a better idea.
Pixie Geldof wore a tunic with pants. It’s probably Chanel, if that changes anything.
