I Have A Crush On: My Amazing Boyfriend Dave

I have shared some dating hijinx with Amanda and my next email to her was going to be about a wonderful date that lead me to where I am today.

My crush for Valentines Day is my amazing boyfriend Dave. Not only is he the most handsome man, but he is so in tune to my needs it is crazy. He is the type of man who, when he’s in bed before me, he will wake up when my cold feet touch him and my shivering body tries to warm up next to him and he’ll give me the warm spot as he then lays in the cold spot… he puts his arms around me till I stop shivering and then kisses me and goes back to sleep. He is the type of guy who will pick my kids up from school and lets them get pizza and pop (when they are not aloud to drink pop) and cover up the evidence. He sends me texts saying how lucky he is, how happy he is, and the best is when he simply sends a smiley face.

You know the feeling of excitement the first time you go on a date or your first kiss or when your phone rings and its him? Well that’s how I feel every time I’m with him. I love cooking for him everyday and falling asleep in his arms every night. Where ever we go he always tells me i’m the most beautiful girl there. He takes me shopping and when I try the clothes on nothing beats the look he gives and the nod of his head that, umm, yes, he wants me to get it so he can take me out in it, and then take it off of me later.

He is my crush because he is the type of guy that on first meeting my mom he hugged her, and when his mom came to town wanted me to meet her. Dave is the type of guy that when laying in bed will grab my little belly and say its cute and tells me I look beautiful in my glasses. He shovels my driveway before I get home and takes out the garbage before I have a chance to even ask. He opens doors for me and gets upset at me if I try to carry my own bags in the airport. He happily goes to my childrens’ sporting events. He holds my hand and always kisses me, no matter where we are. I love when I catch him looking at me from the other room as i’m washing the dishes or cleaning. He smells my hair all the time when he hugs me (thank you aveda!).

But the main reason Dave is my Valentines Day crush is because he loves me like no man has loved me before, he treats not only me with respect, but my children too. He is an amazing boyfriend to me, a wonderful friend to my children, and we are blessed to have him in our life!
