What Your Nail Polish Color Says About You

manicure

When I was a kid, I thought that women who did not paint their nails pale pink or red were clinically insane. Now I’m an adult and I know I’m clinically insane, so I can paint my nails whatever color I want. I still make judgements, though. Do you make judgements? I bet you do. Let’s make some about people based on their manicure shade together.

What does unpolished at all mean? Lazy, I think. Because I am unpolished and it’s because I am lazy.

(When I do wear it, it is metallic pink.)

        You are a thrilling contradiction.

      What about french tips?

Neon coral with an accent nail covered in holographic sequin glitter?

      • Cee

You really like Pinterest and or Lauren Conrad?

Alas, I do not understand either of those things.

Mine are unpolished because I am a perfectionist, and as soon as polish starts to chip – i.e. as soon as I have done the dishes – I have to take it off and reapply it. My boyfriend doesn’t like painted nails, which kind of makes me want to paint them in a “whatever, you don’t wear sweaters even though I like them” sort of way, but I just can’t bring myself to paint them when I know they’re not going to last! But I like pale pinks and metallic golds, especially in the summer. And when I was in college and used the dishwasher and had amazingly long, fake-looking nails, my favorite color was shocking pink.

Yes! Once I see the smallest chip or those tiny bumps (ugh OCD twitch), I just remove it all. I also remove it when I’m getting very anxious or bored so I don’t have to bite my nails. My girlfriend actually has wanted me to polish them since I used to a lot before. but I can’t get past the ragey feel I get about spending so much time (and money) painting them and waiting for them to dry , especially when I have had to go to the restroom and had to hold it, just to see them chip sometimes a little too quickly.

      Love this! Hysterically on point.

    • Sri

These are always freakishly on point. Teach me your ways, Jennifer.

I own that last nail polish color because at the time I bought it, I wanted to be less boring with my choices. BUT I only wore it once & then got frustrated at how quickly it chipped & now my nails are half-coated with the same peachy color I can’t get away from, & the tips are all ragged, & I keep forgetting to fix this situation and am hoping no one notices.

      What does this mean? :-

Silver means you’re a cyborg. It’s fun to pretend.

How do you know!? Metallics are always my go to, but I mostly like them on my toes. Like some other people have mentioned, chipped nail polish on fingers drives me nuts.

    • anonymous

I wear clear on my fingers and blueish-greenish-grayish on my toes.

Nordic on the top, fashionable alien on the bottom.

      burgundy. am i a rebel?

What about glitter? I love glitter polish because it lasts longer. You can’t see the chips for a few days!
