Zero Calorie Food Does Exist


I guess if you have been sitting around thinking “how can I eat food that would leave me starving to death were it all I ate” there is now an answer! Zero calorie noodles. Zero Noodles are what you’ve been looking for.

According to the Daily Mail, the noodles, which the packages claims have been “used in Japan for centuries” have “ zero fat, zero sugar, zero taste and a slightly fishy odour.” 

Does that mean that they taste absolutely disgusting? Because it kind of sounds that way. However, it might be worth it. The Zero noodle website claims that:

Used throughout Asia as a popular diet food, Zero Noodles are eaten as a replacement for rice and pasta and can be incorporated into almost any dish in order to bulk and satisfy as would pasta, bread, rice or potato. The great thing about these noodles is that they are net carbohydrate, fat, sugar and gluten free as well as containing only 10 Calories per pack. Along with this they are also high in soluble fibre and have been shown to help stabilise blood sugar levels, preventing cravings and overeating.
Just by simply changing the carbohydrate from your evening meal with a pack of Zero Noodles you can dramatically reduce your overall calorie intake for the day. This can translate to at least around 1lb of weight loss every week, without even having to try! (Depending on your body weight and usual calorie intake).

I guess if you can get over the “slightly fishy odor” using these to replace your usual pasta dishes wouldn’t be a bad idea. You can buy up packets at the Zero Noodle online shop, here (for about $2.50 for three pickets).

      Celery has negative calories. You expend more energy eating it than you get from it. Plus, it’s quite fibrous so you feel full. Theoretically if you only ate celery, it would kill you.

      Plus, it doesn’t have a fishy odour, unless you rubbed it on a fish or something.

        The problem with either is if you don’t have the carbs your blood sugar drops so you’re still hungry, so the fullness feels more like bloating, and you really are bloated since you’re full of fiber that’s going to come out the other end while I suspect most people on diets are looking to make their digestive system look smaller rather than larger.

        That’s so true. I’ve had zero calorie food before and it’s exactly as you describe – I still get intense cravings and end up eating on top of the zero calorie stuff so my stomach gets distended and I look like I have a potbelly plus I think that it probably stretches my stomach in the process making me hungrier in general. You get the same effects if you have a lot of psyllium husks – loads of fibre but it’s not filling because your body wants something to bring your sugar levels up.

      How odd, I was jussstttt reading about these yesterday (not on Daily Mail though). Apparently, you have to rinse them thoroughly to get rid of the fishy odor & then you’re good to go (presumably…)

      These noodles are groooossssss. I’ve used a different brand before and they are the worst. You can’t rinse the weird taste out. Trust me, I tried.

      I’ve never had this brand, but it sounds comparable to this one: which I’ve had numerous times and swear it actually tastes good. and I’m in love with pasta so I wouldn’t eat it if it was disgusting. It does smell sort of fishy, but it mostly washes out and I’ve never had it taste like that. I will say it is not really a pasta for tomato sauces, though.

      Yuck, I’ve tried them too (different brand). Not only are they gross, but even after cooking them, they are rubbery and hard to chew. They make any nice pasta dish absolutely horrible. They are sort of suppose to absorb whatever sauce you use. And prepping them to get them to not taste fishy takes FOREVER, and they are still rubbery.

      I’ve tried shirataki noodles before. They’re not bad, but I have to eat like three packages to feel full or even satiated.
