Photoshop Of Horrors: Zooey Deschanel Doesn’t Look Like Zooey Deschanel On InStyle

Zooey Deschanel InStyle cover Photoshop

That up there is, allegedly, Zooey Deschanel on the April cover of InStyle. As you can see, she doesn’t much resemble Zooey Deschanel. Maybe some kind of Courtney Cox/Jessica Biel/Zooey Deschanel hybrid, but not really any one of them.

At least one blogger has posited that Deschanel’s strikingly unfamiliar appearance here may have something to do with those plastic surgery rumors, but we’d guess this is plain old excessive retouching. And Deschanel, as we know, is no stranger to shitty retouching–her Rimmel campaign is one of the more egregious uses of Photoshop we’ve ever seen (and we’re aware of that Eva Longoria Amica cover).

Also, didn’t Deschanel technically go from It Girl to New Girl?

      Perhaps she’s just getting older.

I really wonder if nobody sees the images BEFORE printing/uploading so they can avoid this kind of crimes

I don’t know….the appearance of very subtle lines in her face and under her eyes make me wonder, is she just less photoshopped here than she usually is? Because it seems she’s unrecognizable for the exact opposite reasons as the other “unrecognizable” photoshop deals. Usually women are made to look thinner, younger, smoother, and bustier. Some features have clearly been touched up (cheekbones, hair), but this is far from the freaky-flawless look that most other photoshop disasters come with. Maybe we just don’t get enough pictures of Zooey Deschanel looking like a human woman in her 30s, since most pictures of her are hyper-stylized and heavily touched up shots of her looking like a perpetually shocked overgrown toddler in stage makeup.
