Keira Knightley continues to possess a controlling interest in the world’s supply of chicness, so it’s no real surprise that when she decides to get married, her big celebrity wedding turns out all elegant and effortlessly cool, like something out of a Chanel commercial.
Knightley and Klaxons keyboardist James Righton were married this morning at the Mazan Town Hall in the south of France by mayor Aime Navello with just a dozen or so friends and family in attendance, according to US Weekly, which has the pictures.
Keira Knightley’s wedding dress was a simple strapless tulle dress with a full, knee-length skirt that US Weekly reported was designed by Karl Lagerfeld. For the ceremony, she paired the dress with flats and a cropped Chanel tweed jacket. Instead of a veil she wore a ring of small pink flowers or jewelry that looks like a ring of small pink flowers on top of her head. Knightley and Righton were wearing sunglasses as they decamped into a silver Renault Clio and drove away.
Onlookers reportedly told US Weekly that it was all beautiful and moving and Keira Knightley totally cried during her wedding vows. There will also apparently be a larger reception later tonight at Knightley’s mother’s house a little ways outside of the town, and another wedding back in the U.K.
She’ll have more pretty dresses for those, right? She pretty much has to. The main reason for having multiple wedding locations seems to be that it generates reasons to have multiple wedding dresses. Of course, they’ll probably be more chic, cool, elegantly effortless Chanel, but that just means we want to see them more.
