Valentino, a house synonymous with lace-y, feminine elegance and refined taste, has enlisted Terry Richardson‘s heavily tattooed forearm to star in their Fall 2013 campaign. The much-maligned super-photographer can be seen holding the brand’s signature studded accessories above, in place of the usual 14-year-old Estonians with their lips parted just so. No word yet if Richardson’s forearm left the shoot uncomfortable.
According to WWD, this campaign marks the first time Valentino designers Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri have collaborated with Richardson; Chiuri explained that the images were intended to convey “the sensual yet elegant nature of our accessories, described as objects of desire.” Huh.
The campaign can be seen in fashion magazines worldwide, as of today.
