Yesterday at the Waldorf Astoria in Berlin, supermodel Heidi Klum hung out with some wannabe Heidis at the photocall for the upcoming season of Germany’s Next Top Model. Hopefully, none of them will go on to emulate this particular outfit.
If you were like us as a teenager, you thought skintight low-rise flared pinstripe trousers from Express were the height of adult sophistication*; in fact, we kind of coveted the mall store’s entire line of blazers (with pinstripes made of glitter!) and tiny matching mini-skirts. We tend to look back on these outfits and see something more like a sexy Halloween costume version of a businesswoman.
…Which is a lon way of saying that Heidi Klum’s plunging, asymmetrical, halter-neck, glittery-pinstriped dress with absolutely pointless metal abdomen inserts would have be awesome to sixteen-year-old us. Anyone else? Is anyone else getting early ’00s Express here? Maybe we’re projecting.
Wait, though. Look at this thing:
Her shoes are inoffensive, though.

*There’s actually some credence to that, considering so many teenage girls of the early ’00s were wearing ultra-low-rise denim with a goddamn thong sticking out on top.
