Carrying on his rich tradition of casting loyal man servants in fashion campaigns, Karl Lagerfeld has a beautiful new muse: Sébastien Jondeau, his personal assistant and bodyguard of 14 years.
Jondeau, as you can see above, is a strapping 38-year-old “boxing enthusiast,” WWD reports, whose rugged good looks make him a natural fit for fancy menswear ads. There will also, of course, be a video arm of the campaign to appear on karl.com–there’s already a teaser up there, if you are so inclined.
…Let’s all just take a moment to acknowledge that Jondeau is one really good looking body guard. Still, we shouldn’t be surprised–it’s not like Lagerfeld would keep a staff of “normal people” (or Greek people!).
Also, here is the most ridiculous quote we could pull from the WWD story:
“I spend all my time with him,” says Jondeau, 38, the devotion plain in his eyes. “He’s my boss and I respect him.” Asked if he would go to any length protecting the designer in the event of danger, Jondeau looks right in the camera and says, “Of course, to the end. I have no limits, to protect him at least.”
We’ll leave you with a shot of Lagerfeld shooting the campaign:
