While you were grilling meat products and setting off illegal fireworks yesterday, Kristen Stewart was experimenting with fashion.
She performed said experiment at Paris fashion week when she showed up to the Zuhair Murad haute couture show in a jumpsuit—produced by the designer of the hour, of course—made out of a satiny bustier, sparkly sheer pants, and black sequined underwear, which she accessorized with a funky side braid and her signature sullenly sexy expression.
Here is the outfit from a few more angles:
While my first impulse was to be horrified by all of this, it is currently a trend to wear long, sheer skirts over undies or hot shorts that are meant to be seen, and this is basically that trend, pantsified. The side braid is also a neat take on two ’90s throwback looks at once: it creates the illusion of a side-parted undercut, but also resembles a cornrow. You can say what you like about K-Stew, but she’s never been afraid to put her own badass spin on whatever look is currently a thing, peplums excepted. I mean, who else could make a bustier look tomboyish?
Or maybe my vision is totally clouded by my bizarre sexual feelings for K-Stew, and not all trends need to be pantsified, and the cornrow-looking thing does not contrast, but clash. You tell me! But before you vote, consider the potentially endearing fact that she liked her braid so much she kept it in even after she’d changed out of her fancy outfit. Okay, now go.
