Though she may
sometimes occasionally often act like an obnoxious, ridiculous Tampa-hating celebrity, every once-in-a-while, Lena Dunham reminds us of why we all kinda liked/loved her in the first place.
Earlier today, Dunham posted on her ever-popular Instagram account a trio of #tbt (Throwback Thursday) posts that show the question she wrote to TimeOut New York‘s sex columnist Jamie Bufalino back in 2005 when Dunham was just 19. Check it out:
I guess the reason I think this is pretty awesome is because (A) it is weirdly reassuring to know people who are ridiculously successful at such a young age for writing poignantly about sex have experienced weird sexual complexes, too, and (B) this is a very normal inner debate to have, and she seemed to have really healthy views on sex already. Plus, you can already hear the voice she lends to her dialogue now in all the phrasing for this little question.
In general, I think people do not give teens enough credit for being intelligent, emotional human beings. We joke about people not knowing what the hell is going on at 16, at 22, at 29, but who are we to judge what age people are when they start figuring out their own sex lives? Even though Dunham may bother me quite a bit in other ways, I am always thrilled that she manages to get discussions going regarding sex. You’ve won for today, Lena.
Oh, and she posted this today, too. It is an incredibly cute Kate Spade dress and I am totally digging the whole look.
