Animals have co-opted a Vogue hashtag on Instagram and everything is right with the world because animals are better than humans. We’ve highlighted funeral selfies and massive, tone deaf displays of wealth on Instagram recently, and even the news that the Rich Kids of Instagram are getting their own TV show. But of all the trends on social media, my favorite Instagram trend has to be the animals of #voguestagram.
Fashionista brought this amazing trend to our attention, and explained:
Vogue recently posted an Instagram shot of Anna Wintour reading the September issue and captioned it, “Anna Wintour reads #TheSeptemberIssue. Do you? We would love to see it! Show us your #voguestagram.”
The hashtag took a delightful and life-affirming turn when obnoxious people who’s lives are perfect (pet owners) Instagrammed photos of their pets reading the September issue of Vogue, instead of their own boring faces.
If you’re interested in the non-animal contingent of the #voguestagram hashtag, you’re sure to be disappointed. It’s primarily heavily filtered, highly-staged photos of fashion interns in blazers hoping to get featured on Vouge.com. When I say highly-staged, I mean it. How many fucking peony and latté arrangements are there in this world? Those pictures are boring, and the people in them are annoying. Animals have never done anything wrong.
This is a bunny.
Also, here’s a baby, because it’s been a long week.
Thank you, animals of #voguestagram, for turning this slow Friday afternoon into a lighthearted romp.
