Yesterday saw the 2013 Couture Council Artistry of Fashion Award luncheon, hosted by The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology–the event was honoring Michael Kors, that paragon of American sportswear, so a whole lot of leggy, stylish people came out of the woodwork and poured into the David H. Koch Theater at New York’s Lincoln Center.

While the luncheon attracted a bunch of models–Doutzen Kroes, Chanel Iman, Lily Aldridge–in leopard print, a skintight bodycon dress and a pink and beige look respectively–no one stood out more than Oscar winner Hilary Swank:

The actress went so uncharacteristically flashy that we almost didn’t believe it was her. The fit-and-flare dress in aqua blue with leopard print was Kors, of course–from the Resort 2014 collection–and a far cry from her usual palette of black, sensible navy and wine.

Further gilding the lily, she added black python sandals (from the same season’s collection) and a Pre-Fall 2013 clutch, which also appears to be embossed or made from some exotic skin.

Here’s another view:

Last of all, here she is with the man of the hour Michael Kors (who always looks psyched) and Anna Wintour (who rarely looks psyched):

I like it! The color actually de-cheeses the print.
