We’ve been having a great time covering all things Fashion Week-related, even the jerks, but just as with every other year, a collection has scared the shit out of us. Well, maybe just me, but I feel a little embarrassed to say that because you’d think I wouldn’t be so afraid of 18-year-old runway models whom I have a good forty pounds on, easy. Lo and behold, I am afraid of Thom Browne‘s show from this week.
To be fair, it’s not the clothing that is so damn scary; it’s just the makeup and occasionally the hair. They’re a combination of the Haunted Mansion ride in Disney World, a Scary Stories To Read In The Dark chapter and my actual nightmares.
I must admit, I find the above dress amazing.
Well, at least they’re accessorizing…cutely?
Like an army of 5’11″ cannibalistic dolls…
Honestly, I am not afraid so much of clowns as I am of masks, which this style reminds me of considerably. My boyfriend-thing thinks it’s “cool because they look like they came from the waiting room in Beetlejuice,” but I think that I need to have a drink instead of continuing to put these pictures in a post.
Of course, it should be pointed out that so much of this NYFW has included very simple, neutral, polished makeup and hair, so Thom Browne’s show is a cool change from that. I just wish I was a little braver and didn’t instantly think, “TURN ON THE LIGHTS, FFS” when I looked at it. Nevertheless, it’s great that Fashion Week can promote unique, weird stuff and not just the same ol’, same ol’. Otherwise, it would all get so very dull to watch, right?
Good luck with that sleep stuff, Glossers! P.S.:
