Red Carpet: Glee‘s Dianna Agron Does A Crop Top Right

This summer, red carpets were awash in midsections: Spring/Summer 2013 collections were all tropical and bright (and nostalgic for colonialism), ’90s revivalism dominated style blogs and certain young famous women became increasingly aware that outrageous outfits spawned outraged blog posts (especially effective when trying to shed one’s identity as a wholesome Disney star)–and so, over the past few months, crops and bra tops have become kind of ubiquitous on the red carpet.

What’s more–they’re going to stay that way. If the Spring 2014 shows are to be believed.

Unfortunately, the tricky style has left a string of casualties in its wake. While someone with the otherworldly poise of Zoe Saldana can wear just about anything, those aforementioned Disney stars have really struggled to find crop tops that don’t look like they’ve simply gone out missing 1/3 of their outfits. Perhaps no one has struggled more with this than Glee cast members.

This is all a long way of saying: congrats to Dianna Agron for not being among them:

Last night in New York at the premiere of The Family, Agron wore a striking, beautiful dress from Osman‘s Resort 2014 collection. What’s more, the slice of stomach doesn’t cheapen the look like so many crop tops do… it modernizes it.

Here’s another view, for proof:
