There were a lot of trends on view at NYFW this past week: from obvious Spring choices like pastel colors and bright citrus shades to (possibly unrealistic?) all white ensembles and graphic handbags (along with much maligned trends we’d love to see go away forever like peplums and crop tops).
But the trend that landed on nearly every runway?
Can you guess?
Tons and tons of stripes. Candy stripes, uneven stripes, bold stripes, skinny stripes, head-to-toe stripes. It goes on like that!
Cathy Horyn was fond of this Peter Som dress, for one.
Another Som look, this time as mixed prints.
Nicole Miller‘s prints were also mixed.
Suno embroidered stripes (with their perfect sandals).
Jill Stuart did oversized stripes.
Preppy stripes (and more perfect shoes) at Ruffian.
Volume at Altuzarra, whose show everybody really adored.
More Altuzarra stripes…
Bright Spring color at Tracy Reese.
Brighter still at Cynthia Rowley.
Statement stripes at Vivienne Tam.
Refined stripes at Edun.
And very bold versions at Emerson.
BUT WAIT. THERE’S MORE.
We actually found an even bigger trend on the Spring 2014 runways and we’re bringing it to you as a bonus. Find out what it is after the jump!
