This weekend, the London Film Festival closed with a glittery red carpet in honor of Saving Mr Banks. The film focuses on Walt Disney‘s attempts to procure the rights to Mary Poppins as well as the childhood of Poppins author P.L. Travers–and it stars Tom Hanks (as Disney!) and Emma Thompson (as Travers). Their combined star power lured out some very shiny dresses and at least one pair of bizarre shoes.
Screenwriter Kelly Marcel wore a very lovely dress. We can never resist a sheer neckline with black dots, apparently.
Colin Farrell looked world’s away from his “unopen waistcoat, piles of wallet chains and half a cigarette” red carpet look of old.
Sydney Film Festival honcho Clare Stewart wore glittery tights and mary janes.
Thompson wore a beautiful tree print with a mullet hem and ankle boots.
Lily Allen wore a structured Chanel gown with a rather beautiful feather skirt. She accessorized with a Chanel chain clutch…
…And kept things fresh with neon yellow nails, impressively.
Ruth Wilson wore this Space Age Christian Dior Haute Couture look…
With these even Space Age-ier shoes (also by Dior).
While Sarah Owen went gold head-to-toe (including clutch).
