Ciara was in Texas this weekend to celebrate her birthday at the Moet Rose Lounge Houston, ostensibly to save (or make) a little cash by doing so in a heavily branded environment.
But, it turns out, to also wear the most cutout-iest cutout dress we’ve seen in a while:
That’s a lot of cutout! You may not have noticed them, however, on account of being blinded by her new engagement ring. We’ll get to that in a moment.
This is a Fall 2013 look by Israeli fashion designer Alon Livne. It is also a cutout onesie with patent leather embellishments under a sheer black skirt. One of those embellishments appears to be holding up* the dress, impressively, like some sort of rabbit ear halter. Still, the main draw here are those slashes of fabric at the torso. If red carpets are to be believed, people love cutouts–unfortunately, the only thing we like less than cutouts are other pointless embellishments, so that’s where we’re at.
But back to the engagement ring. It is massive:
Ciara’s rapper boyfriend Future gave her the ring over the weekend as part-proposal, part-birthday present. Per the singer’s rep, it’s 15-carat emerald cut diamond designed by Avianne & Co. It’s even big enough to merit a side view:
*As we can see here, however, the dress is actually molded onto a sheer panel which keeps things in place.
