Jada Pinkett Smith has always been known for her very specific style: occasionally very elegant, occasionally gritty, always original, up for a risk and never boring. When one puts it that way, of course, it’s not remotely hard to see where daughter Willow gets her widely-loved style.

And much like Willow, Jada is pretty experimental when it comes to her hair. She is also very interested in doing good, and that’s why she brought her daring new cut to the Equality Now “Make Equality Reality” event in LA. The organization, by the way, seeks to end violence and discrimination against women and you can learn more about them here.

As for that haircut:

It appears she shaved the sides and lightened what was left. She then gathered the remaining sections into a high ponytail and molded the front into a pompadour.

What’s really impressive, though, is how natural it looks on her:

Of course, the glowing skin and dead-on makeup help out:

She looks amazing from head to toe, but especially her head – that face, that hair, that make-up – I can’t even…

Oh. My. Glob. If Katee Sakhoff doesn’t wind up playing Captain Marvel, can we cast JPS?
