Cross-Eyed Model Brunette Moffy Is Supposed To Revolutionize The Beauty Industry

brunette-moffy-pop-coverBrunette Moffy was not a working model when she landed the cover of Pop Magazine. She was just a regular girl whose friend recommended her to the editor and photographer, who were tired of working with regular models.

“We chose to shoot her because we had recently shot with models and wanted a change,” said photographer Tyrone LeBon to the Daily Mail. “Moffy had never been photographed for a magazine and it’s always exciting to work with someone when there is uncertainty about how it might work out.”

We love that they were thinking of shooting a model who wasn’t just like all their other models, but Moffy isn’t actually all that different from other models. She’s 5’8″ and has a model’s measurements. What sets her apart is her crossed eyes—her eyes are beautiful, huge, and greenish-gray, but they don’t align.

LeBon and Pop editor Max Pearmain liked the results of the photoshoot so much they put Moffy on the cover of the magazine this summer, and now she’s been signed by one of the most significant agencies in the world.

Brunette Moffy is a new face of Storm Models, which also represents Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Andrej Pejic, Cara Delevingne, and Behati Prinsloo. One shoot in and she’s already in the big leagues.

Because of her crossed eyes, Moffy’s Storm contract is being heralded as a sign of a changing industry—as though her modeling contract demonstrates the fashion industry has learned its lesson and decided to start broadening its definition of beauty—but we don’t expect Moffy’s success to make many waves in the long run. She’s still young, tall, and thin, and as far as the modeling industry is concerned, those qualities are the main way one defines “beauty.”

Moffy is gorgeous and we look forward to seeing more of her. Theoretically, we guess it could be possible that agencies and designers everywhere will look at her and be inspired to hire models of different sizes and shapes, but we’re not exactly going to hold our breath.

Wow, some folks gets all the breaks. But what’s suppose to be cute about crossed eyes?

You missed the point of this entirely.

Cross eye is a form of strabismus (also includes wall eye). Kate Moss has strabismus. Ever since I read it in a Bazaar article, I see it in every modelling photo I see of her http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm6/accessoryofcrime/paranaiv_kate2_by_patrickdemarchelier.jpg

I have one crossed eye. I fight against it all the time. When it crosses it drives me crazy. I have double vision. When it is crossed, it makes me unable to do anything visual… Can’t drive, read, watch tv. I have struggled all my life with it. Currently I am wearing contacts that help pull my eye to the correct position. I think this girl is beautiful and applaud her courage and hope she goes far. But mostly I hope she gets her eyes to a good opthomologist who will help her eyes align correctly. I can imagine she is seeing two cameramen instead of one taking her picture. I would be.
