Kris Jenner’s Dating A Younger Man So Cue The Ageist BS

Kris Jenner Visits "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon"

As you no doubt already know because you set a Google Alert for Kris Jenner two years ago, Kris and Bruce Jenner have separated. Now that she’s a hot single fox on the town, Lady Jenner has been “linked” to former Bachelor contestant Ben Flajnik, after meeting on her daytime talk show in July. No doubt they both bonded over trying to replace human love and affection with TV audiences.

US Weekly is calling the alleged relationship (which Flajnik has since denied) a “shocking hook up,” and we think it won’t be the first time the Flajnik-Jenner (Jennik? Flajner? Definitely Flajner.) relationship gets called surprising or odd.

Anytime celebrities – or just normals, for that matter – enter into any kind of relationship wherein the woman is older than the man, the media coverage can’t seem to resist calling the women cougars, and using tired metaphors about these old hags catching their prey. We saw it with Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart, Janice Dickinson and anyone she’s dating, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. The list goes on. Stories always list their ages or refer to the woman as “the much older…” How long until we start seeing headlines that scream “MOMMY FETISH?” or some heavy handed portmanteau along the lines of “momager?”

The ageism doesn’t go the other direction, and is very clearly related to our preoccupation with age when it comes to women and how it ravages them into things we don’t want to have sex with ever. When George Clooney trots out a 25-year-old, stories point out the age difference in a wink wink nudge nudge, good-for-him way. A younger partner is a status symbol for men, and a desperate power play for aging, decaying hags.

So here’s to Jenner and Flajnik, who are either together or not together, and the deluge of stories we can expect that will paint Flajnik as the helpless prey to Jenner’s menopausal hunting spree.

BS…men are called names as well. Why do you chicks insist that only women are called negative name. Cougars sounds better than a child molestor, old pig, sugar daddy, stupid, etc. both gender get called names, get off your bias one way horse.
