British and American stars alike were out in droves last night to attend the British Fashion Awards in London.
Burberry went home with the most awards (two), and Kate Moss was awarded the Special Recognition Award. What does that even mean? Additionally, Harry Styles was awarded the British Style Award, which was voted on by the public. Apparently bad haircuts and a barely legal status are all the rage for Spring 2014.
As always, the Red Carpet gave us quite a bit to talk about. Let’s get into it.
Clémence Poésy brought it in this excellent Erdem floor-length gown. The pulled back hair complements the crazy flowers, too.
Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Prada dress has just the right mix of structure and figure skater. Her hair and makeup are fantastic.
Arizona Muse looks severe in Louis Vuitton and I’m into it.
Harry Styles looks dumb in his Saint Laurent outfit. That scarf is dumb.
Kate Moss was up to her old tricks in a Marc Jacobs leather dress. Normally, I hate when people leave their coats on, but it was probably like two degrees and she’s carrying it perfectly.
Downton Abbey‘s Laura Carmichael had a big miss with her Mulberry outfit, which was actually a corset top and wide-legged trousers. The fit on the trousers is all wrong and instead of being exaggerated in a good way, she’s drowning in them.
Look at how normal Marc Jacobs looks! Dapper as shit.
Poppy Delevingne showed up in this fun Emilia Wickstead shirtdress, which was certainly a nice break from floor length gowns, although pretty jarring. Pianos!
Rita Ora looked glam in Vivienne Westwood, but probably could have used a little more tailoring, boob-wise.
Daisy Lowe looks nice in this modified Erdem gown, but I feel ambivalent about sheer black over nude lining.
Pixie Geldof‘s ill-fitting satiny number from Topshop definitely made the short list for worst-dressed, but that weird freaking stuffed animal clutch she’s carrying makes this too bizarre to even process.
Suki Waterhouse does lilac proud in this Burberry Prorsum gown. Even the sheer, plunging neckline somehow seems restrained, and are balance perfectly by the sweet cap sleeves.
Next up: our picks for best dressed, best hair/makeup, and worst dressed.
