Britney Spears Admits Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Plastic Surgery Procedure

BREAKING: Britney Spears has just admitted to having the worst possible cosmetic process done. She does not, in fact, even have the same face she did last year. This is like that one Goosebumps episode where all the bullies turn out to be lizards or the scary process of peeling off faces in Roald Dahl‘s The Witches.

Just kidding. I mean, she did admit to having had a cosmetic treatment done, but it isn’t a big deal (to me, at least). In an interview with In Style, Spears stated she has “frequently” visited Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Raj Kanodia in the past. In fact, he has done “fun stuff” to her “sometimes”–namely, lip injections.

For the record, lip injections are not a big deal, but I admittedly think it is kind of cool that Spears would admit this is publicly. It is not that I believe people–including celebrities–should always disclose stuff like that to the public. Nobody has an obligation to explain their personal choices for their bodies, especially when it comes to medical procedures (including cosmetic treatments).

That said, given how much speculation surrounds the looks of famous people, particularly women in entertainment, I personally think that if I were in their place, I would totally just admit whatever I’ve had done. It would get irritating to see tabloids in the store constantly pondering whether or not I have put some fat in my cheeks, had my ears pinned, or gotten a breast lift (which, if I’m to be completely honest, are things I have debated having done someday).

I’m not about to call this a “brave” move by any means–a word I feel people are way too quick to apply to celebrities’ actions and statements–but I think it’s no big deal. In general, as long as as many precautions and safety measures are taken as possible when it comes to cosmetic treatments, I don’t think they are something to get angry about other people getting. In most cases, they looked one way one day, then a different one the next. Ta-da!
