Dorky Men (Hilariously) Transform Into Victoria’s Secret Angels

vs angels have a hard job

What would tonight’s broadcast of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show look like with dorky male models? Thankfully, this video will show you.

We all know that the Victoria’s Secret Angels endure some terrifying shit to become A-list bra-wearers. They’re advised to go on insane diets, their every bite of food is scrutinized, and they probably work out more times in a week than I have in the last six months. I’m not a model, and just thinking about their auditions takes me to Jennifer Lawrence levels of anxiety– in her words, “I’m like a chihuahua; shaking and peeing.” So like them or not, you have to concede that the VS models are dedicated/talented/disciplined/athletic champions of human body-having. Therefore, it’s particularly adorable to see awkward dudes with journalism degrees trying to keep up with an Angel workout.

A group of dude reporters from Time decided to give it a shot. They met up with celebrity trainer Michael Olajide Jr., who works one-on-one with Adriana Lima and Doutzen Kroes and some of their famous colleagues, and they sweated it out in khakis and button-downs. According to one of the men in the video,

Instead of sitting like couch potatoes during this year’s show, the gentlemen of Time decided that we should train like the Angles instead. …We barely left alive.

Too freaking adorable. I can’t decide what’s the best part– watching them do push-ups with that stare-at-the-ground-and-pretend-this-is-easy expression dudes always wear? The extra bounce in their steps when they try to do squats? Their goofy smiles when they realize that teeny tiny women are way fitter than they are? All of the above. It’s all my favorite.

Adorable, except it makes me uncomfortable watching people work out in non-athletic clothing. Also, I really want that soft-spoken pirate to be my trainer.
