Whether you love her or hate her or just wish she would finally be able to stop*, Miley Cyrus was inarguably one of the year’s biggest celebrities. And now she has one final hair change! For the cover of Love Magazine, Miley’s profile was shot by David Sims and featured a new, gorgeous hairstyle: a pink mohawk.
I generally find her shaved sides a little boring and reminiscent of when Skrillex fans collectively decided to look like douchebags (perhaps to make themselves more identifiable to the rest of us?), but I really like this look. The hair is appealingly simplistic, even in its brightness and sharpness, and the muted makeup makes her face shine. Plus, the “LOVE” tattoo on her ear is weirdly appropriate given the circumstances.
After 2013 featured Miley doing everything from chopping her locks off to going Anna Wintour-esque to even dyeing it a normal color, it’s cool to see her close out the year on a rad style–though, to be fair, this is from at least a few weeks ago given that the cover came out today. It’s a nice shade of faded magenta, though perhaps I need whip out my crayon box to determine whether it is Raspberry Taffy Combined With Caramel pink or holiday-edition Canada Dry Cranberry Ginger Ale pink.
Speaking of artificial fruit drinks and the closeout of 2014: while I believe our Kool-aid has become supersaturated with Miley to the point where we will begin throwing up the too-sugary concoction sometime in the next two years or so, I also feel like people said that about Britney Spears a decade and a half ago and–whoops! Here we are. Seeing the current popstar prom queen make out in the previous one’s presence. Ah, the circle of life.

*To be fair, “Miley, please stop” jokes are approximately as old and repetitive as Miley herself.
