Red Carpet Rundown: We’re Live Blogging The Truly Awful, Worst Dressed Celebrities At Tonight’s SAG Awards

20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Red CarpetThe SAG Awards are just a couple of hours away, meaning the nominees, presenters, and random guests are posing on the red carpet as we speak, and invariably we’ll end up with a robust list of horrible looks. Like always, we’ll be updating throughout the evening, so I’d be honored if you’d stick around and chat with me about these shit shows. Let’s get into it!

20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

I dislike Giuliana Rancic‘s shiny purple, cross-strapped, black belted mess of a thing, but the real mistake is her beauty routine:

Artificially orange skin, hair awkward swept back, overzealous, dark brown eyeshadow, and bubble gum pink lips. Nope.

Rocsi Diaz gives us another example of a super blah dress that fully pushed itself into fashion disaster territory with the beauty and accessorizing.

Severe hair, extraneous eye makeup, and earrings that look like they should be attached to drapery in a psychic’s home office? Wow. Somebody help me make a “knockers” joke.

Dowdy pattern aside, HOLY HELL, ARIEL WINTER! Those bad boys are fighting tooth and nail to get out of their death restraints masquerading as a Badgley Mischka Spring 2014 gown. My boobs are retreating into my body in fear because this just seems so unbelievably painful. Side note: did you know that sometimes testicles do that? They just zip themselves up wherever. I don’t know. I’m not a doctor. I’m just a human with emotions and the emotion I’m feeling right now is boob fright.

Carice Van Houten looks beautiful until you get to her ankles…

I love Ariel Winters’ dress, actually. But I’m a sucker for purple.

I do not like how her boobs look, though. I’m a very modest B-cup and that hurts me to look at. It’s pretty obvious that the dress was made for someone not quite so, ahem, blessed in the chest.

    • Julia Sonenshein

I’m all for showing off your assets as you please, but it just looks SO painful!

    • Sara610

I agree. I absolutely love everything about this dress except the way it fits her in the chest.

    • Romylove

I was going to say pretty much the same thing.

  • MammaSweetpea

Why is Kathy Griffin even there? Does she still act? I never see her in anything….

    • Julia Sonenshein

Good question! PS MammaSweetpea I’ve missed you!

    • MammaSweetpea

Thank you Julia :) I’ve been sick….nasty flu has been beating me up for most of this month.

Ariel is 15 correct ? She should not have cleavage like this , inappropriate at such a young age. Children are way too sexualized in this society!

    • Sami Jankins

I was a DDD at age 15. There is nothing sexualized about her being in a dress unless you make it that way. I had cleavage in everything. When you are that busty it is near unavoidable. She looks beautiful.

    • tifygodess24

My daughter is the same size ( as ariel ) and funny thing she finds plenty that covers her breasts, even formal wear. No offense but that excuse is always used. She is 15! And of course she looks beautiful that was never in question.

  • Sami Jankins

I have major qualms with the picking on a young girl in a dress. Leave the dress-snarling to adults. Teens have enough self-esteem issues than to have adults finding flaws with what they are wearing.

    • Julia Sonenshein

I thought we kept it pretty tame, but noted.

    • Holly

I understand what you’re saying but I feel like I always feel negatively toward the stylist/designer when I see something like this, especially on a young person.

  • CMJ

The problem with Ariel Winters’ dress is it just doesn’t fit her…you always buy the size that fits the largest part of your body and then alter down from there.

    • Sami Jankins

Likely it was a sample. Hollywood isn’t too forgiving for dressing curvaceous figures. Christina Hendricks has encountered the same problem. Designers aren’t willing to dress larger sizes. The price to buy a red carpet gown to alter would be astronomical.

    • CMJ

I get that…..It still doesn’t fit. I have no problem with cleavage – regardless of the age. But that’s not even “cleavage” to me…it just looks painful. I don’t want to snark on her either or tell her to cover up. I just wish designers would get their shit together.

3Ds here with a small waist and big hips so I know how much it sucks to find things that fit curvy figures…I usually just avoid dresses with that shape because they just aren’t flattering my body shape.

  • CMJ

Geeze, everyone looks wrinkled, ill-fitted, and hungover.

  • Cee

Blah blah blah, we all stared at a 15 year old’s boobs, I will leave
that for you guys to argue about, buuuut can we all talk about Natalie
Dormer’s hair?! She went full Skrillex!

  • ktree

I am a G cup, and I was in my cousin’s wedding and that is what I looked like. It wasn’t physically uncomfortable but damn, did I feel awkward. I know that no one wants to hear larger-chested girls complain, but no one makes clothes for this, really, especially famous designers.

    • Kaili

It’s so unfair. I look shait in everything. I was looking at some pictures from Christmas that were me full on from the side and I looked as wide in the chest as I am tall. Never wearing that shirt again.

    • Samantha Escobar

That’s what’s so frustrating! Like I said in another comment, stylists and designers almost exclusively dress and make clothing for women with small breasts (and thin waists, hips, etc.), which is annoying as hell and completely ignores the fact that tons of women have big boobs. *Raises hand*

    • Julia Sonenshein

Yeah I had humongous boobs as teenager and it was impossible to find clothes. I just shoved mine into the options I had and it hurt a ton.

  • Samantha Escobar

Julianne Nicholson’s dress looks like a poorly made costume from a middle school theatrical production (though her hair looks really nice).

I think I made the same mistake Ariel Winter when I was younger, too, and didn’t know how to handle having DDs. I feel like a lot of stylists in Hollywood don’t know how to dress larger-breasted females (case in point: Christina Hendricks http://images.thehollywoodgossip.com/iu/t_full/v1364526570/christina-hendricks-breasts.jpg). Instead of finding them garments that accommodate for larger breasts, they push them into a too-tight garment.

  • MerlePerle

Nooo! I was totally developing a girl crush on Rose Leslie after finishiing GOT and now Downton Abbey…and then she does this. Sad.

    • Julia Sonenshein

I know! I love her so much.

  • Ruby

whats the problem with melisandre’s shoes? i dont think her slightly “meh” outfit merits being cast in with this lot.

  • Ddaisy

Call me crazy, but I think the vast majority of these people look fabulous.

  • Jayjay

I really like the blues of Ariel Winter’s dress, they are just right for her, and her make up is beautiful too. On a separate note, MARIAH WHY?

  • Klee

I like Juliette’s dress- she can pull off pattern, and the dress looks great on her. Ariel, honey, sweetie, I know you’re in hollywood, but boobs are not supposed to touch your chin.

  • Holly

I’ve said it a billion times, I know nothing about fashion other than what I like and don’t like. That being said, these are some of the worst I’ve ever seen! They seem like they’re bad on purpose. Like they all got together and planned it. However, I LOVE Juliette Lewis’s dress.

  • Crayzcheshire

Why the hell would Giuliana Rancic powder her hairline in a charcoal/ash color?? definitely not helping the situation.
