Our fake celebrity best friend is moving away! Jennifer Lawrence, still riding high on a tide of admiration and popularity, might be pulling an Anne Hathaway and taking a year off after she finishes The Hunger Games.
According to Time, Jennifer Lawrence joked that she was just going to turn her phone off for a year when The Hunger Games is finished, and Harvey Weinstein says it’s true.
“She’s going to have a long break for a year where she won’t do anything. It’s been non-stop for her and she deserves a rest,” he said.
“Jennifer is too nice and will do people favors and agrees to do a movie like American Hustle when she could have had a rest,” Weinstein said. “She signed on to do Hunger Games when she was young and wouldn’t have realised how much it would dominate her life. But she’s a professional and always will be.”
We can dig it. If we had all the money we’d need in the world, we might take a break from time to time, too. Especially if that time involved hanging out with Lawrence’s handsome zombie boyfriend, Nicholas Hoult.
But before she goes, we’ll get to see her at the 2014 Oscars. She told The Telegraph that she’s already picked her dress, which will be Christian Dior haute couture.
“I saw a picture of it from the runway and it was just the most beautiful dress I think I have ever seen,” she said.
We won’t know which one she picked until next week, but until then we are going to entertain ourselves by using the Spring 2014 couture collection for our own Jennifer Lawrence Paper Dolls.
Which of these looks might she wear?
This one is interesting, but the fashion-forward drop waist and baggy silhouette are not exactly commercial. We might like it, but J-Law would certainly wind up on a few worst-dressed lists. Joan Rivers, who already hates the hell of her, would have a field day.
This classically elegant jumpsuit would look gorgeous on anybody. It’s been said that as a presenter, an actress wants to look remarkable and get attention. As a nominee, she wants to look beautiful. If J-Law is going the straight beauty route, this look could be a contender, though it being a jumpsuit lowers its chances and could cause some pearl-clutching by the commenters.
This one is pretty neat. She’d look like a piece of candy, but she does seem to like that neckline.
This white column is certainly eye-popping up close, but it’s a bit plain from far away. She also just wore white Dior to the Golden Globes, so this would not be our pick.
This one fits in with the shapes Lawrence has been wearing lately, and the petals are certainly impressive when viewed up close.
If we were picking odds, this petaly dress would probably be the odds-on favorite. But Lawrence surprises us sometimes.
This is stunning and we love the floatiness. But considering the effect the gorgeous floatiness is having on her, we have to give our #1 pick to this one:
The short length makes this one a longshot, but we had to throw this one into the mix because we just love it that much. We want to pet all the rosettes, and then wear it and just flounce everywhere. Getting to wear dresses like this seems like the main perk of being a movie star, so if we were J-Law, we would wear this one.
