Not two days ago, we talked about how Nicole Richie had dyed her hair a glorious purple hue, which we absolutely loved. Now, model Ireland Baldwin has hopped on the Willy Wonka train and gone lavender, as well. Unsurprisingly, it looks absolutely fantastic. Check it out:

She captioned this, “Bust my lip and died my hair. Thank you @anderssonjj for the PURP babe,” though I’m not sure I can see anything wrong with her lip and I especially do not think she murdered her hair. (Okay, fine, I’ll stop being hypercritical at what I’m sure had something to do with autocorrect.) In all seriousness, I really love that this seems to be more saturated at the top and gets lighter at the bottom, giving it an ombre purple effect.

Another shot that gives a bit of a clearer idea what the full dye job looks like:

Guh, it looks amazing. It also makes me miss my blue hair, but if I start talking about that, this whole post will become an e-eulogy to my old hairstyle and that’s just weird.

The only thing weird about these photos is that I genuinely would not have recognized Baldwin. I mean, duh re: the second picture, but in that first one, I just wouldn’t have guessed who she was, and I am fairly accustomed to seeing Ireland Baldwin via Instagram. The interesting thing about dyeing your hair is that it does not simply make your hair look different; it affects how people perceive your eye color, your skin tone, your facial features, everything.

Like I have said a million times: I am all about people dyeing their hair unnatural colors. In all seriousness, I did not every pay attention to Kelly Osbourne as a style inspiration until she went pale lavender which is almost always the best thing about her outfits. If you can and you want to, you should, so don’t hesitate–just go for it. Worst case scenario: you let it grow out and then it is grown and then you are good again.

This is not helping to deter me from dying my hair some pastel shade AT ALL. Unfortunately, I sense that I do not have the skin tone or the budget to pull this off properly. But she looks awesome.

I am sending you well-wishes so your bank account grows exponentially until you can dye your hair a pastel shade and post pics.

I love this particular shade, too!!

Ugh, all these girls dyeing their hair is making me want to dye mine again. Unfortunately, I have neither naturally blond hair or long enough hair right now. But one day, one day.

P.S.- She looks SO much like her mother in the banner pic. Gorgeous.
