Even though playing Hermione ruined her childhood, the Harry Potter film adaptations are what made Emma Watson‘s career blow up as quickly as it did. That, and how seamlessly she evolved into a massive style icon who’s great in interviews and incredible on the red carpet. Perfect example: that gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gown from the Noah premiere. Speaking of premieres, let’s all take a walk down memory lane and check out every look Emma wore at the Harry Potter premieres, shall we?

My favorite thing about this is that it is lavender. My least favorite is that I didn’t own it at age 12.

The third installment saw a slightly more dressy, but still casual, look.

She somehow discovered the glory that is burgundy at such a young age. Past Me is very jealous.

It looks like a pillow design, but a very fancy pillow design.

She even did a wash of matching blue eyeshadow. She is adorable.

Is it odd that she reminds me of Helen Mirren here? I feel like this is something she would wear.

6B. Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince New York City Premiere

I’m not a big fan of leather tops (or skirts, or anything else, really) but this silhouette is nice.

THAT. HAIRCUT.

I like the London premiere’s dress better, but as far as red carpets go, she’s still golden.

I just can’t over how beautiful this gown was.

The color of this dress is exceptionally beautiful, but I feel like pictures don’t do the dress justice. It fits her so well.

So, which is your favorite look? I’d have to say mine is 8A, in all its fluffy glory.

    6A!

is it weird that mine’s 7a? ALSO. HOW DID SHE COMPLETELY AVOID AN AWKWARD STAGE?! UNFAIR

    • Samantha Escobar

No, omg. I love that look! Her hair and makeup and everything are so beautiful.

    • Mandie

I sometimes wonder if a large part of the HP budget was spent on genetic testing to make sure all the kids grew up hot. The only one that moved dramatically on the attractiveness scale was Neville, and he went from awkward to babe. Do not understand.

    8B!

That Deathly Hallows 2 premiere is my dream wedding dress. OK also, a lot of these looks are weird, but she always looks adorable/amazing in them. I am sad that she feels that she kind of lost her childhood, but it also seems like she was allowed to grow into her own style without people being total dicks about it, which is kind of cool.

8B, for sure… but I love how she kind of experimented and grew with her style. I kind of also feel like she grew five years older between 6B and 7A. Like, you’re scrolling down through the pictures and all the sudden, ba-BAM!!!

7A is my favorite, followed by 6A. Except in 6A, her baby toe looks like it’s being tortured. Also I must make it my life’s mission to own the shoes in 6b.

  • Chelsea DeLoney

    7A! She is working it.

  • Alexandra Mitchell

3B. I would totally wear that. Actually I’d wear a lot of these. But she works them like WOAH.

7A….I love that she has transitioned to adult silhouettes and dresses (because she IS an adult) but not in that “I AM A GROWNUP NOW DO NOT TREAT ME LIKE A LITTLE KID” kind of way that former child stars sometimes do – without naming any names….

Also, yes, what is with the complete lack of an awkward stage? She went straight from adorable kid to classy woman and totally skipped the in-between stuff.
