Last night’s red carpet for the premiere of Mad Men was a mixed mag–it ranged from the truly awful to the fully sublime. I couldn’t be more excited for the premiere on the 13th, and seeing all these familiar faces gussied up made me want to go back and re-watch from season one. It’s funny–seeing the cast in today’s clothing always feels anachronistic and bizarre to me, and I don’t know why but I forget that these are real humans existing in 2014, and as such subscribe to the same fashion trends that I do. What a world!
I’m really split on the pattern on Alison Brie‘s dress. It sort of looks like an owl is peeking out from her genital region.
Annaleigh Ashford looks adorable.
As does Ben Feldman–those rosy cheeks make me want to kill something small.
Things are really happening with Jessica Paré here. I love the neckline, but why is the fabric something your grandmother would cover in a plastic tarp and call a sofa?
Rich Sommer looks dapper, and I love his wife Virginia Donohoe‘s glasses.
Jay R. Ferguson looks like he’s in vacation mode, and I’m into it, sexually.
Stephanie Drake‘s necklace might be a bit much, but I love the color.
John Slattery can scowl all he wants. Check out those sideburns.
Vincent Kartheiser really nailed the red carpet pose.
I think I’d look awkward in his position, too–it looks like his hair is growing back from when they gave Pete a sadly receding hairline. From a girl who’s constantly growing out bangs, let me just say that I feel you, Vincent.
Teyonah Parris basically showed almost everyone else up. It’s been a long winter and I’m so happy to see some bright colors.
Jon Hamm looks stricken and sexy.
